NEW PURPOSE
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been interviewing founders, operators, military leaders, and other high performers to understand what actually drives performance, and what’s just noise.
The original goal of Move the Needle was to compare how various high performers operate across health, habits, and mindset.
But after 20+ conversations, one thing became clear:
Most people don’t need more information; they need simple takeaways they can put to action immediately.
Similar to my approach in business: get straight to the point and tell them what they need to know.
So, I’m evolving Move the Needle…
New positioning:
Breaking down how founders actually operate, and turning it into clear, actionable systems you can apply right away to improve your:
Business
Brain
Body
The goal:
Help you improve your personal AND business health without burning out.
AUDIENCE:
Who it’s for:
Founders building and scaling companies
Operators in high growth environments
Investors backing high-performing teams
TAKEAWAYS:
To kick this off, here are the biggest takeaways and insights from the first 8 guests:
BE IN SYNC WITH YOUR CHRONOTYPE! This made the BIGGEST difference in my life right away. I moved my workouts from the morning to the evening, because my mental energy is highest in the morning and physical energy is higher later, and I’ve noticed a complete 180 in my energy levels, clarity, and more. The best action with the quickest results.
Scheduled blocks of deep work will let you accomplish more in a few hours than you do all day.
The boring foundations (sleep, training, and nutrition) should make up 95% of what you focus on, everything else is just fluff. But if you can start with one, start with sleep.
Training is not something that takes you away from work but adds to it. You don’t realize how much being in good shape influences your performance until you take it seriously.
Integrate movement into your life outside of training, the 23 hours outside of the gym matter. Park further away, walk after meals.
Do things you love. Physical energy is great but doing things that reenergize you mentally will leave you with enough vigor to pursue what you want in life.
Everyone feels imposter syndrome, but you have to be unafraid to ask for what you want.
If you want to be better, do more. If ads work, run more of them. if you want to shoot better in basketball, shoot more. We always overcomplicate things, but the secret is consistent practice. The consistency compounds in business and in health.
Motivation wanes but discipline and consistency keep you moving forward. The days you’re feeling unmotivated and push through anyway are the ones that move the needle.
Acting in alignment with your core values in all areas of life drive lasting progress.
Don’t become bottlenecked by your decisions; develop business rules needed so others can make them for you, and you don’t become a crutch to your own business.
Take action immediately, don’t wait for a 100% solution.
Implementing just one of these will move the needle.
